About Me
Hi, I'm Jack, a level and game designer with several years of experience in Unreal Engine 5 and Unity along with knowledge of version control systems and agile methodologies. I love being a creative person with a keen eye for detail. Furthermore, I enjoy travelling and exploring new cultures, which inspire and infuse a fresh perspective into my projects. I'm dedicated to crafting captivating experiences that push game design boundaries and thrive in multi-disciplinary collaborative settings.

Cosmic Cowboy is a cel-shaded neon noir turn-based space western narrative inspired by the original Fallout, XCOM and Borderlands.
Responsibilities:

Implemented and designed levels with verticality in a turn-based setting, designing scenarios for which the player can engage in a dynamic environment across 3 height levels.

Owned the level design process for all levels and menus to create a fully playable space.

Worked within a multi-disciplinary team consisting of programmers, artists and designers to make sure that the game is a fun and cohesive experience.

Successfully funded £500 from Kickstarter to further help the development costs.

Consciousness is a 1st person survival-horror game where the player must evade capture from a hostile entity that roams the player's dreams. I assumed full creative control of this project.
Responsibilities:

Audio design - Implemented sound effects into gameplay, creating a tense and suspenseful atmosphere.

Level design - Created original levels from paper drafts to in-engine.

Mechanics design - Design and created original gameplay mechanics, focusing on player engagement around the AI.

Terrate is a dynamic 3rd/1st person survival-adventure game developed with Unreal Engine 5. This was a group project where I assumed several roles in design and development.
Responsibilities:

Audio design - Created an original soundtrack and implemented sound effects into gameplay.

Level design - Created original levels from paper drafts to in-engine and worked closely with a multi-disciplinary team.

GDD - Organised and managed a detailed design document.

Gameplay balancing - QA tested the gameplay for bugs and gameplay issues, using player feedback to iterate on design.
